Cookies

What this site stores in your browser, and what it does not.

The short version

This deployment sets exactly one cookie, and only after you sign in. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, which is why you are not being asked to consent to anything.

Cookies this site sets

NamePurposeLifetime
nmd_sessionKeeps you signed in. Set only after you sign in, and removed when you sign out. It holds a random token, not your identity.30 days

The cookie is HttpOnly (scripts cannot read it), SameSite=Lax (not sent on cross-site requests) and Secure outside development. It is strictly necessary for the account area to function.

What is kept in your browser

Two keys, neither of them a cookie and neither ever sent anywhere:

  • nmd.socialChain.presets.v1 (localStorage) \u2014 Social chain presets you saved by name, including any author, copyright, credit, city or country you typed into them, and the text of a watermark. When you delete the preset, or clear this site’s data in your browser. It is never sent anywhere.
  • nmd.socialChain.last.v1 (sessionStorage) \u2014 The social chain settings you last used, so a reload does not lose them. Same fields as above. When you close the tab. It is kept for the visit and not beyond it, so a shared computer does not hand your name to the next person.

What is not set

Unless stated in the sections below, this site does not use:

  • tracking or advertising cookies;
  • analytics cookies;
  • cookies that follow you between sites;
  • local storage or IndexedDB for your files or anything in them — what is kept is listed below.

You are not asked for cookie consent when only the essential session cookie is in use, because a strictly necessary cookie does not require it.

Your files

None of this touches your files. The tools process them in your browser and upload nothing, so no cookie, advert or analytics event has access to them. The privacy page explains how to verify that yourself.
