How it works
Instead of modifying just the invisible metadata, this tool actually decodes your image, applies an obscuring filter (like Gaussian Blur or Pixelation) only over the rectangles you draw, and then losslessly injects your original EXIF data back into the censored output.
This ensures you protect what is visible while keeping the chronological and original context of the photo intact.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Just like all our tools, the image decoding, pixel processing, and encoding happens entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly. No pixel ever leaves your device.
Why does it keep the metadata?
This tool is specifically designed for visual censorship. If you also want to remove hidden GPS or camera data, you can simply run the censored image through our "Clean" tool afterwards, or vice versa.
